CEMIT Welcomes New Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO

CEMIT Group – a data company, driving digital railway development for increased safety, mobility and efficiency across the globe – has made a significant recruitment move with Stig W. Seljeseth.

As the new Chairman of the Board, Stig will be responsible for most of the board’s assignments, spanning various industries and expertises. Additionally, he will also be taking on the role of interim Group CEO once Are Sandersen officially hands over the position as from February.

Stig, a well-known leader in the business world, comes to us from Ambita AS, where he most recently served as CEO. Before Ambita, Stig served as Executive Vice President of A-media with responsibility for digital development, among other things. Are Sandersen, co-founder and outgoing CEO of CEMIT Group, shares his thoughts:

“As part of the company’s tactical plan, it is with great pleasure announcing the recruitment of Stig W. Seljeseth as the new Chairman of the Board. I also have great confidence in not only handing over the CEO position to Stig, but in his plan to focus on the company’s continual strategy, development and support for managers .”

Stig will officially step into the position in the middle of February when Are retires the CEO title. With Stig comes a long and diverse background within digital marketplaces and business opportunities across several industries. Combined with his strategic approach and relevant management experience, ranging from the large and complex to the small and newly developing, Stig is bound to push CEMIT to new heights.

Stig shares some of his thoughts on the new position:

“I look forward to seeing how CEMIT will challenge the market to grow in ways we have not yet seen. The digitization and redefinition of sustainable transport is and will be a considerable aspect of smart-city development in the years to come, making it essential to choose your partners wisely. CEMIT, with its qualified resources of researchers, developers, and railway experts, can change the railway industry and its related infrastructure in a very positive way for the benefit of many players.

My task is to take the company into the next growth phase. Simply put, we must clarify our
role in the market to become the partner other players need in order to succeed in predictive and proactive maintenance – whether they are big or small.”
